About Me

Ayona A. Trimnell has juggled various challenging roles in the fields of Market Research, Brand Management, Corporate Communications, Marketing Strategy, Retail Marketing and Business Development. Her career has focused on repositioning and building Brands in Nigeria, across West Africa, Southern Africa Markets and as well as Africa & the Middle East markets.

Her previous role as the Group Head, W Initiative- Access Bank, she was responsible for developing and sustaining the Women’s Portfolio in nine subsidiaries across Africa. Understanding what women want at home, in the workplace and in Business was at the core of the Banks strategy.

She is currently the Project Director for the KAP E-Learning Institute. KAP E-Learning
Institute in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, Young Africa Works programme which focuses on growing the next generation of skilled filmmakers through the tutelage of industry experts and professionals, providing practical, hands-on experience in diverse aspects of film and television-making to enrolled students.

Ayona is an ardent lover of African Art, an avid reader and a published author. She has always worked for women empowerment and equality of women at workplaces. In her book Celebrated, Nigerian Women in Development (2006), she explores the female entrepreneurship journey in Nigeria.
