Marking a significant milestone, the KAP Film and Television Academy celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of the year today March 2nd 2024, following a phenomenal 14-day in-person masterclass.

This program brought together students from across the continent for an unforgettable experience. Veteran filmmakers and industry experts offered their invaluable time, knowledge and experience to aspiring screenwriters, directors, producers, and more.

Our impressive lineup of instructors were renowned filmmaker and founder of the academy Kunle Afolayan who led the directing and production design segments, sharing his insights and experience. We also had Judith Audu (producing), Ope Ajayi (business of film), Tunde Kelani (cinematography), Dami Elebe (screenwriting), Bimbo Akintola (acting), and a team specializing in editing and sound post-production.

It wasn’t just a passive learning environment. Students actively engaged in the filmmaking process! Working in collaborative groups of five, they put their newfound knowledge to the test by creating short films.

Today’s graduation ceremony is a testament to their dedication and the invaluable skills they’ve honed.

The KAP Film and Television Academy masterclass is more than just a program; it’s a launchpad for aspiring storytellers. By providing students with this unique opportunity to learn from the best in Nollywood, KAP Academy equips them not only with technical skills but also fosters a network of connections that could propel their careers forward.
