“Anybody can sit, watch a movie, hype, criticize or condemn the movie but it takes having a great love and knowledge of film, and an ability to put aside your mood, distractions, or biases to see a movie beyond just the view…”

Having an educated opinion about movies is not about just stating the “good” and “bad” about a movie but having a breadth of knowledge that allows you to compare a movie/TV show to the bunch of entertainment that came before it, it is the ability to discern between the good, the bad and the ugly. You have to analyze character and plot development, performance, cinematography, directing, editing, and writing.

It is an ability to patiently study film and a skill that can be developed by going to a good film school and understanding the analysis of film. It is a process that requires taking your time to actually write reviews. In some cases you may need to take notes as you watch films and really dig into the symbolism, meaning, and themes in order to write an opening that draws them in and come to a conclusion that is fair and balanced.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but It is one thing to have an opinion about movies and another thing to have an educated opinion about movies, the difference between the two is that one is attributed to just anybody while the other is a skill gotten from a refinement in your knowledge. So guys get ready for the best of refinement because the doors of KAP Film and Television Academy will be opened in a couple of months.
